Our Story

Dsouza Biotech began as a small family company in early 2000, as an off-shoot of a family-run dairy, headed by entrepreneurs looking to enter the value added dairy product market. Our company introduced India's first natural stirred yogurt, to a niche clientele under the brand name FRUGURT.

Since its launch, the brand has grown many-fold and risen to a number of challenges in an exceedingly competitive market. Over the years, the brand FRUGURT has steadily gained popularity and enjoys a fan following grow. Ingredients

For the Caramelized Onions

• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
• 3 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
• 0.5 teaspoon salt
• 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon sugar, optional
• 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar

For the Yogurt Base

• 2 cups plain Frugurt Greek Magic
• 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
• 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
• 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, optional
• Salt and pepper to taste

For Garnish, optional

• Fresh chives
• Olive oil drizzle
• Cracked black pepper

Instructions

1. Thinly slice the onions.
2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat, add onions, and cook for 10 minutes.
3. Add salt, pepper, and sugar if using, then continue cooking for about 25 minutes until deeply golden and soft.
4. Stir in balsamic vinegar during the last 2 minutes and let cool.
5. In a bowl, mix Frugurt Greek Magic, garlic powder, onion powder, chives, and Worcestershire sauce. Season to taste.
6. Fold in the cooled onions, cover, and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes. Garnish and serve with chips, crackers, veggies, or as a spread.
